(570) 675-9253 The Film & Discussion Series, which is open to the public, consists of five movies, including pre-film lectures and stimulating post-film discussions. The series can be taken as a one-credit course or as a non-credit offering. Participants earn continuing education credits upon completion of the series. Continuing Education is pleased to have Bill Bachman return as the instructor for the movie series. Bill has taught a variety of communications courses for Penn State Wilkes-Barre since 1986. He currently teaches introduction to public speaking, public speech writing, mass media and society, propaganda and persuasion, and media effects. October 17: Mr. Holland's Opus (1995/PG) Glenn Holland is a musician and composer who take a teaching job to pay the rent; in his "spare time" he strives to achieve his true goal - to compose one memorable piece of music to leave his mark on the world.
