Milnes Engineering, Inc. is looking for qualified and energetic candidates to be involved in a wide range of survey and engineering projects and tasks that include site development, transportation infrastructure, water and wastewater facilities, stormwater facilities, oil and gas facilities and pipelines, and municipal engineering.

 Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Actively assist the Project Managers (and others as may be required) in the delivery of a complete project. Beyond project specific survey and design efforts, this may include phone, e-mail, letter, etc. correspondence, attendance at meetings, cost estimates, project specifications, project documents that need to be completed, etc.
  • This position is considered a dual role position with the primary emphasis on land surveying. In the absence of survey work, this position will be utilized in a design/drafting role.  Applicants must be flexible to go back and forth between these roles.
  • This position offers the opportunity for advancement into a Surveyor, Project Engineer and/or Project Management role.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Computer aided design and drafting skills (AutoCAD Civil 3D experience preferred)
  • Experience with conventional and GPS survey methodologies
  • GIS and/or Microstation experience a plus
  • Must be detailed and quality oriented
  • Must be able to handle multiple projects concurrently and maintain flexibility to changes in work assignments as changes occur in projects
  • Experience with 3D modeling, aerial photogrammetry, and pre-flight planning software a plus.
  • Ability to function in a team environment and culture of cooperation and collaboration.

Experience and Education:

Preferred: Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Surveying Engineering or Surveying Engineering Technology, or civil/site design experience of at least two years.  Those pursuing these degrees may still apply if they are within two years of graduation.

Certifications:

Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or Surveyor-In-Training (SIT) preferred, not required. FAA Part 107 Pilots License Preferred, not required. Applicants can be actively pursuing these certifications if applicable.

Milnes Engineering is looking for an experienced civil/environmental engineer to be involved in a wide range of engineering projects, primarily focused upon water and wastewater facilities and systems. Candidate to be a successful, mid-career engineer with a strong background in this area of expertise.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Design and management of water and wastewater projects in both PA and NY. This would include preparation of design reports, permit applications, permit and construction drawings and specifications, cost estimates, bid documents and other contract document material.
    • Consultation with existing water and wastewater facilities owners and operators related to asset management and operational upgrades, troubleshooting of process operations, etc.
    •  Serve as a key member of the company management team and consistently implement ideas to provide growth in the water and wastewater markets. This includes working with management to identify and hire capable staff to support these efforts.
    • Coordination with MEI’s sister construction company (The Milnes Co. Inc.) on various construction project opportunities. This may include a complete design-build effort, consultation related to value engineering of a project, or other miscellaneous engineering support.
    • Develop project budgets and schedules with applicable staff and monitor closely to ensure optimal project performance and profitability.

• The Project Manager will be a key member of the management staff that will work to continuously
develop and improve the company’s strategic plan. This will include consistent effort to develop and
maintain business, input and direction to consistently ensure optimal performance of staff, forward
thinking and ideas to improve operational performance of the firm, development of new initiatives and
implementation of those initiatives, and consistently developing ways to improve the culture and
moral of the firm.
