Description
Beautiful sunrises and sunsets as well as other water and woodland scenes at Lake Carey are captured on canvas and on display in the Earnshaw Gallery at the Dietrich Theater through Friday, November 13, The Lake Carey Discovered oil paintings of Amy Colley reflect her discovery of the beauty of area when she moved there about a year ago. She has seen Lake Carey in all its seasonal and daily changing images with the new eyes and appreciation of a new resident. Her paintings are for sale just in time for the holidays. All are invited to a reception to meet the artist on Thursday, November 12 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
Amy Colley, artist-in-residence at the Dietrich Theater, is a longtime art instructor, having taught hundreds of preschool through adult art students. The Sheldon Art Studio is full of artwork from these classes. The most recent addition to her repertoire of class offerings is the popular Fine Wine, Fine Art, taught jointly with her husband, artist Steve Colley.
Both Amy and Steve Colley have rich backgrounds in the arts, both with Masters in Fine Arts from Parsons School of Design in New York City. Both have taught extensively at colleges throughout the area and at the Waverly Community Center and the Deutsche Institute.
Lake Carey Discovered can be viewed anytime the theater is open for movies or by appointment. For information call 570-996-1500.
